Add a Microsoft account
- In File › Info, choose Add Account. On first run, this page opens by itself.
- Type your address and choose Connect.
- Your browser opens Microsoft’s own sign-in page. Sign in there. MailCraft never sees your password.
- Microsoft asks you to allow MailCraft to read and send your mail and use your calendar and contacts. Choose Accept.
- Back in MailCraft, your mail starts to arrive, newest first.
You have 5 minutes to finish signing in. If it times out, choose Try again.
“Need admin approval”
Section titled ““Need admin approval””Some organisations let only an administrator approve a new program. If Microsoft’s page says Need admin approval, nothing is wrong with your account. MailCraft shows what to do:
- I’m an administrator: approve it for my organisation, if you are one.
- Copy a message for my administrator: paste it into an email or chat to whoever looks after your organisation’s Microsoft 365. When they’ve approved it, choose Try again.
- Mail only: signs in for mail through IMAP instead. You won’t get the calendar or contacts.
Administrators: see Approve MailCraft in your Microsoft directory.
Mail and calendar kept in step
Section titled “Mail and calendar kept in step”With a Microsoft account, what you do in MailCraft happens on the server too: read marks, flags, moves and deletions, and appointments you make, move or delete. Meeting invitations go out through Microsoft, and you can answer invitations from the calendar or straight from the message.
Not everything goes back yet: folder renames, drafts and categories stay on your computer for now.
